Motorhome Inspection

Class A, B, and C motorhomes carry every system of a house plus a heavy-duty drivetrain. Our motorhome inspection covers both — engine compartment, transmission visual review, generator, leveling jacks, and full house systems.

  • Optional fluid analysis (engine, transmission, coolant) — $125 each
  • Generator load testing & maintenance check
  • Hydraulic & electric leveling system audit
  • Chassis battery, cables & disconnect switch (per NRVIA SOP §16)

Travel Trailer & Fifth Wheel

Towables require careful attention to coupling, frame, and brake systems. The NRVIA inspection covers each of these by visual and tactile observation across the full coach.

  • King pin / hitch system structural inspection
  • Frame, axle & suspension evaluation
  • House battery, cables & disconnect switch (per NRVIA SOP §18)
  • Slide-out mechanism, seals & operation testing

Life Safety + Fluid Analysis Add-On

Life safety items — propane integrity, detector function — are part of every NRVIA inspection. Fluid analysis is an optional add-on that pulls oil, transmission, or coolant samples and sends them to a lab for wear-metal and contamination testing.

  • Propane leak test (8" W.C. for 5 min, per NRVIA SOP)
  • CO, LP & smoke detector verification
  • Hot Skin Test on the 120V system
  • Optional fluid sampling — $125 per fluid (oil, trans, coolant, etc.)

Pricing

Honest pricing, built for your coach.

Every RV is different. Pricing is determined case-by-case based on the rig, the systems involved, and the location. Travel is always built into the quote — never added on after.

— Custom Quote

Case-by-case inspection pricing.

RV inspections aren't one-size-fits-all. A 22-foot travel trailer and a 45-foot Class A diesel pusher require different time, scope, and expertise — and the price reflects that. Call or message with your coach details and we'll quote you up front.

  • Coach type, length, and complexity
  • Inspection scope (Pre-Purchase, Life Safety, etc.)
  • Site location within the Austin metro
  • Any optional add-ons (fluid analysis)

Per Fluid · Lab Analyzed

Pulls a fluid sample for lab analysis — wear-metal trending, contamination, and chemistry that visual inspection alone cannot reveal. Highly recommended for high-value coaches and any pre-purchase decision involving an unknown service history.

Our Process

Five steps from request to report.

A predictable, transparent workflow built around the buyer's timeline — not the seller's pressure.

01

Request & Schedule

Call (940) 297-7554 or use the booking form. We confirm coach details, location, seller contact, and timeline. Most Austin-area inspections book within 3 to 7 days.

02

Coordinate with Seller

We contact the seller or dealership directly to confirm site access, coach readiness (full water, charged batteries, hookups), and any logistics specific to the inspection location.

03

On-Site Inspection

A typical NRVIA inspection runs 6–8 hours. Every system is documented with photographs, every roof is climbed, every appliance is run, every fluid is checked.

04

Report Compilation

Findings are compiled into a digital report with high-resolution photos and clear next-step recommendations. Delivered within 24 hours of inspection.

05

Consultation & Negotiation Support

Every report includes a complimentary post-delivery consultation. We walk you through findings and help you make informed buying, negotiating, or walk-away decisions.

Frequently Asked

Austin RV inspection questions worth asking.

If yours isn't here, call (940) 297-7554 — we'd rather answer it directly than make you guess.

How long does an Austin RV inspection take?
A typical NRVIA inspection runs 6–8 hours on-site. The duration is what allows us to perform a thorough visual and tactile evaluation of every accessible system and component, run every appliance, climb the roof, and document findings with photographs. We do not rush inspections.
What does an Austin RV inspection cost?
Pricing is determined case-by-case based on coach type, length, inspection scope, and location within the Austin metro. Travel is always built into the quote — never added as a surcharge after the fact. Optional fluid analysis is $125 per fluid (engine oil, transmission, coolant, generator oil, etc.). Call (940) 297-7554 with your coach details for an up-front quote.
Do you offer same-day inspection service in Austin?
Inspections are scheduled in advance to allow for the full 6–8 hour evaluation. Reports are typically delivered within 24 hours of the on-site work. Contact us to discuss available dates that fit your timeline.
Will you inspect RVs at dealerships in the Austin area?
Yes. We routinely perform inspections at dealerships throughout Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, and the surrounding areas. Most reputable dealers welcome third-party NRVIA inspections.
What should I do to prepare for an RV inspection?
Ensure the coach has fresh water, propane, and battery power so we can test all systems. Black and gray tank disposal should be functional and accessible. For private sales, arrange access to electrical hookup. Clear access to compartments and remove personal items where possible.
Are you NRVIA Certified?
Yes. Dewayne Marion is an NRVIA Certified RV Inspector and operates HD-RV LLC under the standards and code of ethics established by the National RV Inspectors Association. Every inspection follows NRVIA Standards of Practice and produces a detailed digital report with photographs.
Can you inspect a coach for an out-of-state buyer?
Yes. A significant portion of our work is acting as eyes-on-the-ground for buyers who cannot fly to Texas before purchase. We document every system thoroughly with high-resolution photos so out-of-state buyers can make informed decisions without being on-site.
